No Rob, please ask. I just re-read my reply more than a couple of times and
have come to the conclusion that I sound just like the kind of A-Hole web
geek, that I usally make fun of...

I like Nissan motors in Roadsters myself. The SR20 is a spectacular alloy
block 4 cylinder that makes breath taking power. The KA24DE is a
bullet-proof common motor that many have done very sanitary swaps. Way more
power that a 2,100 lbs car will ever need. The FJ20 is a rare motor with
lots of Nissan history that grew out of the LZ twin cam race motor program.
There's been more than a few Ford 4 cylider swaps (the turbo 4 from the
T-bird and Merkur XR4?)
No Neon motors that I know of.
