When I brought my head to the machine shop we got into a discussion about
EGT and A/F monitors to check for carb mixtures. I'm burning slightly rich
although my plug colors are correct and the car runs seamlessly. I'm
thinking of using a A/F meter to fine tune it and see how the needles are
but I don't want to drill into my Jet Hotted manifold. I'll have a bunge
welded into the exhaust pipe and use a 3 wire O2 sensor.

Since the Roadster uses dual carbs you may be better off with an EGT system
with bunges welded into the 1st and 4th cylinders and dual EGT gauges. Many
vintage race cars use EGTs to check for A/F ratios.

The cheaper alternative, although not the best, is to use an infrared
digital thermo scanner or whatever it's called.
