My 1600 had 10 year old tires with less than 15000 miles on them. Pirelli P6. 
One developed sidewall cracks so I brought it to the company that handles the 
fleet business for the company I work for to swap it out with my never used 
spare.
They almost took my head off when I told them I was driving on 10 year old 
tires.
  Next day brought all 4 in for new ones.
  They said when they are that old they will come apart with NO warning.
