Robert,
I can't say enough good things about Permatex Hylomar HPF. Get a tube of
Hylomar at your local autoparts store; it's a gasket dressing that stays
liquid and doesn't dry out (and is a pretty blue color). If you use it on
your gaskets, you can remove the cover repeatedly and it still maintains a
rock-solid seal. This last weekend I rebuilt my motorcycle carbs and it made
the job easier as I reopened the carbs several times to adjust them.
