Hi Troy,

Chances are you have a 240/260/280Z MC installed; with it, the overall
balance front to rear will be about correct, *IF* you still have the stock
13/16" bore rear wheel cylinders....if they were changed to later 3/4" wheel
cylinders, then but you'd have an awfully hard pedal, and might not be able
to lock the rear wheels and the nose will dive a lot under hard braking -
sound familiar?

The stock dual-circuit MC on '67.5-'70 roadsters is 3/4" bore, but that does
not necessarily mean that the other one you have is a 'proper' roadster
unit, as Nissan used the Tokico brand for most of their cars, and many used
3/4" size......one significant difference between the roadster 3/4" MC and,
say a 510 3/4" MC is the thread pitch of the line fittings (of this I'm only
99% sure, so please confirm this elsewhere).

I'd first check the size of your rear wheel cylinders - if they are 13/16,
then consider just buying a new/reman 240-280Z (but not 280ZX!) MC, as
opposed to guessing what model of 7/8" you have.

If you have 3/4" rear wheel cylinders, I'd try installing the 3/4" MC you've
got - if the brake lines will thread *properly*, chances are good that it is
OK....but be VERY careful, as metric and imperial male and female fittings
can be forced together, but will leak and/or fail at the worst possible
time - when you need brakes!!

As for sway bars - my car has/had/will have again a 7/8" front bar, and I
plan on retrofitting a stock 5/8"(?) front bar on the rear.

Pete Long
