Although I am mostly a lurker on the list I will add my information.
I am Jack Davis, 53 years old, my wife is Chris and she is not 53 years old.
In January we will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We live in
Lafayette, Colorado, just north of Denver. We have a 29 year old son, a 26
year old daughter, a wonderful daughter-in-law and an almost 6 year old
grandson. I am a computer programmer for a publishing company, Chris does
freelance computer work for various publishers.
I was born in Lewisburg, PA and Chris was born in Trenton, NJ. I have lived
in 23 different houses/apartments in 6 different states and never attended
the same school two years in a row until 8th grade. I attended 13 different
schools before I graduated high school. Both Chris and I graduated from the
University of Wyoming.
I spent 4 years in the Navy, 1969-1973, including two 6 month tours off the
coast of Vietnam. Served on the USS Coontz (DLG-9) and the USS Reasoner
(DE-1063) as a Boiler Technician.
I was just recently "elected" president of WyCROC (Wyoming, Colorado
Roadster Owners Club). This happened while I was on vacation in Pennsylvania
and WyCROC had a run. Everyone who was not present was nominated and I got
"elected".
I bought my first roadster, a 1969 1600, from my brother. He bought it new
and sold it to me when he got married. I was in the Navy at the time and
Chris drove it from Pennsylvania to Wyoming where my parents lived and where
Chris was going to school. She had about two weeks to learn how to drive a
stick before leaving. We both loved the car but when our first child was on
his way Chris developed a problem with reaching the pedals. Traded it in for
a Datsun 510 wagon.
We now have a '69 2000 (mine) and a '70 1600 (Chris'). Her's is prettier,
but mine is faster!!! Both are listed in the registry.
