Part of the mystique of auctions is the fact that the auction isn't closed
until the last minute. If you really want a part you need to be there for
that last minute and bid up a bit higher just in case someone tries to
"snipe" you. I rarely snipe; I'll usually bid a bit low first, then raise
my bid at the last minute - really in the last 5-10 seconds - if my bid
still stands.
Maybe he shouldn't have replied, or replied differently, but he followed
the rules. Sniper bids are allowed. You're chastising someone after you
commited an ettiquete faux pas - you sent out an email in anger. You
should have just let it go.
