I was watching a race and one of the rotors disintegrated on one of the cars
and the commentators did mention something about cross drilling. Seems that
almost all racing cars use regular rotors or those ceramic/carbon fiber
rotors which are superlight but super expensive.

When I went to a race at Lime Rock I noticed that the cars didn't use cross
drilled rotors. I guess mass is good for something in racing.

The only place I see the drilled rotors are on rice cars because they look
cool and go well with those 18" super low profile tires and slammed
suspensions that hip hop on every little bump on the road :)  And of course
the rear wings and body kits!!!!
