With all of the discussion of the lack of parts and reliability of the
2000, I thought I would bring up a question I have seen before but do not
remember the answer. When I had my head done 8 years ago I was not
knowledgeable enough to ask to check for replacement valve seats. I had a
couple valves replaced and the surface cleaned up and that was it. When I
asked the machine shop, later if they checked, they said they could not
possibly remember. So, I must go under the assumption that I have the
standard original equipment valve seats.
As a result, I must/should use a lead substitute at each tankfull to
protect my head. At the local Trak Auto superstore, they carry a lead
substitute that is made by CD-2. There is no listing of components so I
dont know what it is. Is there a particular product that we should be
using that is a true protection/substitute for lead?
