Here's probably the easiest way. Look at
http://www.gordon-glasgow.org/Images/21-2.gif and find the machine screw that
goes up into the bottom of the distributor. It isn't labeled in this diagram,
but if you find numbers 95-96-97, look to the right. Simply remove that screw
and lift the distributor out, then drop the new one in with the rotors pointed
the same way.

I'm going to change my distributor on the 1600.  Would one
of you experienced distributor swappers be so kind as to
layout the steps involved for me?  Or point me to a site
that already has it listed.

I've down quite a few small block Chevys and managed to get
them 180 out.  On one occasion couldn't get it right for
nothing and had to take it to someone to set it straight.
