I thought there would be dozens of replies by now, but no, so here's one.

Tom's Tips are posted at http://www.roadster.org/tomstips.html

Click on Tune Up and Torques Specs FAQ .

You'll see
Points                   .018-.021"
     dwell                 49-52 degrees

Plugs                    .027-.031"

I just memorize 18 and 28 (18-thou, and 28-thou) as a memory aid. Set your plug
gaps right in the middle (.029") and that ought to do it. Their more forgiving
than the points gap.

Hey all,

I am going down to pick up a compression gauge and some new plugs while i am
at it. Should they be gapped and if so, how much?

thanks =)
