I was driving down I-25 south of Denver in 5th many years ago and all of a
sudden it felt like the clutch got pushed in. I went to 4th and that gear
was fine. Any ways the big nut came undone. When I pulled the Trans apart
everything looked OK, I replaced the nut and the lock washer, and 5th gear
syncro, and a few more small parts, b/c they looked a bit worn. I used lock
tight red on the nut, and gave it everything I had to tighten it. Still
works great. Jim
