Miatas hold their value. I've seen ragged Miatas sell for over $4k. This
one ought to be easily worth $6k if it needs nothing. With such low miles,
sounds like a sweet opportunity. Make sure it isn't from Hawaii or NYC as
they have low mileage abused cars. :-) As a rule, Miatas are very
reliable.
It's worth finding out what package it has. Some have LSD and other
