Van,

Uh... what year car was this?

Does it have a generator or alternator?

Side note - I finally found a GREAT USE for JB Weld. My "Fellows Brand"
paper
shredder quit working after a year. Great excuse to take it apart. There
is
a series of gear reduction gears in it the motor assembly. End of the
gear shafts
have nice bushings, held in place by the plastic casting.

Plastic housing support for the bushing was cracked out. Cleaned out
all the old
grease, rinsed with soap & water. Put the bushing into place, and FILLED
in a good
portion of the cavity with the JB Weld. Greased and reassembled. Back
to shredding
as needed, and a happy camper.

Moral:
Keep all records for Seven years, and do not condemn JBWeld as being
only used
by PO's. I still do NOT approve of JB Weld on carb float chambers!

Cheers,

Tom Walter
Austin, TX
