I have build roll bars for roadsters in the past. I find a shop in town
that carries roll bar tubing (.035 wall I think) and have a muffler shop
bend and weld it for me. I make my patters out of 1/8 plywood. Shape?
Front view - Come up behind the seats at 90 degrees to the world then turn
in the angle of the side windows and bend to the corresponding angle to make
the top flat. The last bar I made I put a small crown in the top and it
looked great. Side view - angle it back at the angle of the wing windows.
I put the back supports from the bottom of the top bend and down to the rear
deck inside the rear fender. The last bar I build for my now deceased '68
held up in a roll over with very little deformation. I plan to build
another one for my '66 in the near future. OK it will be this summer before
I can get to it. Any other Ideas I would love to hear them.
