Indeed, it was common for the OD cars to have a 4.1 rear end. When I converted my 4A, I didn't change the rear ratio - this allowed me to keep the same speedo, and gave me better cruising RPMs, which is what I was really after. Going from 3.7 to 4.1 would give you better acceleration, especially off the line, but that might not matter to you. When the TR6 came along, they discontinued this practice - everyone got the 3.7. |
