You CAN still find the good project car!
I recently purchased a clean 1969 Midget that had been sitting in the desert
on a California ranch for $200.00. Now, mind you, this car was last driven
in 1985. The positives were that it was relatively rust free and that it was
intact,and had not been too horribly vandalized by butcher mechanics in the
past. I Uhauled it home (just barely fit on the trailer). The only thing
that really scared me were fears of the dreaded Hanta Virus as I vaccummed
out piles of rodent fecal material from the engine and interior areas!
Things are going well with the resto.....front end is done. This is my 6th
british car. A bugeye, 2 Minis, a Lotus Cortina, and a TR 4 have rounded out
my dementia. I hope to make this little critter a commuter (I live close
enough to jog to work when it breaks down).
