The engine color on all MGBs until about mid 1971 (18V engine series) was a
deep red. On a '65 B, deep red is correct (Moss sells the exact shade), and
the dynamo (generator), thermostat housing, inlet manifold, and starter
should all be painted this color. I believe that all exposed fasteners
holding the head and thermo housing on should be painted, not bare. Ditto the
pulleys and all brackets.

Somewhere I have the paint code numbers, but spring cleaning has come early
with the warm weather and be damned if I know where it is.
