The Jaguar E-Type was described *in* Road & Track as
"the greatest crumpet collector in the world" by the late, and
sorely missed, Henry N. Manney III, in the age before the political
correctness plague began. It remains one of my personal favorites
along with one from Graham Hill, telling a novice journalist why he
dropped out af a GP.
Hill: "Exhaust problem"
Journalist: "What was wrong with the exhaust?"
Hill: "There were little bits of pistons stuck in it."
Road & Track was so much better when it had Manney, Rob Walker and that
crew writing for them.
