Hey Berry;
I fought with a very similar problem for 2 years on my MGC before
I figured out what it was. These same symptoms your experiencing would
happen every so often, so I replaced everything from the gas tank forward.
And they continued. Well, it finally dawned on me that these only happened
when the tank was half full (half empty?) or less. So, it's a rusted pickup
tube with a hole in it (visual inspection showed mega-rust in the tank). As
long as it's got more than half a tank in it, everything is fine. The tank
is getting replaced this summer, so I'm expecting this problem to go away...
