Kevin Riggs asked about a way to cut what sounds like
some SERIOUS copper mesh gasket material. Chisel and
hammer does sound a bit crude...
I would suggest finding access to someone with a scroll saw.
These are typically used for wood, but a metal cutting blade
can be installed. This would let you turn all the nice pretty
curves with ease. The interior holes are made by drilling
a hole, removing the blade, inserting it through the hole,
and reattaching to the saw. Should make for a nice gasket
when all finished.
