Hullo. Good comments on the rear-end noises from the Spitfire, but I think Zahid was talking more about the diff itself. Yes, the axle bearings in the trunnion can wear and score the axle. The best preventative is frequent lubing, though I've never heard of anyone putting gear oil in them. (Gear oil was the recommended lub for the front trunnions.) Jim Muller |
