Jerry,
        If your mechanic can't/won't put valve seats in
the head call Jerry Ross at Engine Master in Denver, CO.
He vintage races a TR-3, and does good engine work.  He
has put seats in several TR 4-banger heads.
        When I had it done on my TR-3, I used Datsun 280-Z
valves and seats.  They are slightly larger, so its a bit 
tricky to install them.  They are also a bit longer, so they
need to be shortened and have the retainer grooves re-cut.
