Do MGs have clocks in them?  My snake had a current drain of about this
magnitude that drove me nuts for months.  Turned out to be the clock.
It was one of those old car clocks found on production Fords (and
probably GMs, Chrysler, AMCs, et cetera) in pre digital days.  The
kind with the spring that was wound every so often by some sort of
solenoid gizmo or something.  Anyway, mine had a short in it.
