Marvin,
Do you have any contact info for the guy with the AOD. I just bought an AOD
(that needs a rebuild) for my fathers car. I would like to know what has to be
changed when the swap is done. I know that most things will fit right up but I
was wondering about driveshaft length, trans mount, shifter, etc...

Scott,
I will be installing a Mustang T-5 tranny sometime in the next month or two.
I am sure that will help the gas mileage (along with the Holley TBI).
In my mustang that I used to own I had about 300 hp. with the 5 speed and 327
gears. I would get about 15 city and 22mpg on the highway. Not bad for a
reasonably heavy car that could run upper 13's. Maybe with the mods that are
coming for #23 I might be able to come close to that.

                                                        Jamie

Scott,
A guy here in Salt Lake put in an AOD. He said it made a great improvement.

<< For improved fuel economy, one of the best changes you can make is to swap
the FMX transmission for an AOD. There are an article about this in The
Brickline. The higher gearing should give much better highway mileage, plus
reduce engine noise, and increase engine life. Has anyone on the list tried
this and measured the mileage improvement?
