The second overlap idea is a recipe for disaster. A crossover is
best done early in the course, no more than 20-25 seconds out. That way you
can start a second car after the first car clears the crossover.
Crossovers at the end of a course are a problem because different
driver/car combinations arrive at different times, thus making the event
vulnerable to a head-on collision. Save the Figure-8 racing for Watsonville
Speedway.
While I can't speak for other Safety Stewards, if I'm assigned I'd
never approve it. Then you'd have to re-do it and thus delay the event
start.
