I don't like $15 spring compressors either. I have about 3 pair of those in
my garage, in various states of functionality. They tend to wear out and/or
stop working. I got tired of feeling nervous when using them, and bought a
"real" spring compressor. Mine cost about $230 (OTC model 7560), and worth
it. It is soooo much easier. Now it does have it's own limitations; it
doesn't work real great on small diameter (sub-4") springs. so maybe this
won't really help you since those springs are pretty small as I recall...
but then again I didn't spend $550++ for the one that does everything...
I would be happy to lend out this tool, although I'm somewhat geographically
challanged as far as this list's membership is concerned - I live in Folsom
(thats east of Mather Field.) but for anyone else....
