Thanks for the reminder. Although our SFR supps have us completing the
course at reduced speed, all areas and and National level event supps may
not allow that "luxury". I wonder how the Tour at San Diego, this weekend,
handles this issue?

This item was added to our supps many years ago in order, at least in part,
to avoid "penalizing" a competitor by having him/her drive off the course on
hot tires, thereby picking up lots of crud, and creating a potential
reduction in traction on the allowed re-run. It's also safer for workers and
following drivers (if red flag workers are on their toes), in that, the
slowed car's path is more predictable for workers.
