Hi Carson,
The University of Michigan's Transportation Research Institute is one of
the world's leaders in road roughness and wear.
http://www.umtri.umich.edu/
I remember reading a report by them showing that for highway driving, wear
is proportional to vertical load (a semi generates 10 times more wear than
a passenger car). I do not know about road wear due to cornering loads.
They have a document search for their library at:
http://www.umtri.umich.edu/library/simple.html
Go to that site and enter Pavement Wear. You will get around 500 hits. It
is all technical stuff, but there may be something in there that can help you.

Subject: need help, civil engineer stuff
info regarding the wear on the asphalt surface that
autocrossing creates. I feel this is negligible but they want proof. I
have a video of our lot with the type of autocrossing it sees. Does this
info already exist somewhere? Any engineer's out there want to take a
stab at it. We have no money to pay for a study, sorry.
Any help greatly appreciated.
