Rocky,

First Merry Christmas! To transfer data you can use a program
called "Lap Link' and a "cross-over" ethernet cable that will
connect machine to machine, providing you have an ethernet card
on the old machine (I am assuming you have one on the new
machine). When I last did it, I took the contents of the old
machine and made it a folder on the new machine. I use exactly
two programs off the old, but it was nice to have as a safety net
the when I first swapped everything. You may also be able to do
this with a ethernet hub, but it probably won't transfer a
program in its entirety. That's the advantage of Lap Link. Some
newer programs may not be as happy about it, but if they are
newer, there is a better chance of having the program discs.  :^)
