There was mention of a Porsche that automatically goes to ASP in Eric's
post about the cost of Z06's and what he saw at Nationals. What other
Porsche was at Nationals that goes directly to ASP?
Snip...
Personally, I think a dominant $100K car would destroy SS. The NSX has
never proven itself to be competitive in B/S. If it dominated, it could
still go to A/S or SS, before getting booted to ASP.

No this, in my mind has nothing to do with where the Porsche GT2 is
classed, I was thinking about the Porsche's AWD twin-turbo and the
hot-rod Viper. The GT2 should be in a class with Z06's. The GT2 has a
comparable power to weight ratio with a Z06 and worse aerodynamics than
the Z06. And a GT2 has fewer tire choices than a Z06.
But charley's comment does illustrate my last remark, which paraprhased
is this: who spent more money? Because if the deciding factor is who
spent more money, then we have to include the cost of tow vehicles and
trailers.
I'll spill a little secret -- the reason you haven't seen a new high-end
Porsche at Natz is that they're all just waiting in the wings so they
can ruin a class. It's a Vast Conspiracy. :)
