There used to always be a Wendover event the weekend before Memorial Day, in
May. Despite that earlier date, it was sometimes very very hot and very very
windy.
I remember the date because it always conflicted with our local "Duel at
DeAnza" autocross, and the Bay to Breakers foot race through San Francisco.
That may not have been the Pro Solo though, perhaps it was their old
"permanent course" Solo II, which was once also a National Tour.
