Not quite, Jim.
In the never-ending saga of what to do with the Miata in Prepared (no one
seems to want it in *their* class), yet another new proposal will come out
in the next FastTrack. The previous two proposals were to 1) add weight and
leave it in DP, or 2) Move it to EP, adjusting weight and inlet restrictions
to match the class...somehow. Each of these met with resistance from
everyone else already in those classes. Fancy that.
The new proposal will ask for member feedback again on the original two
proposals and also on the new possibility of moving the car to AP. The AP
move would also give it wheels up to 16x10" and unlimited fuel injection
(all real AP cars have unlimited FI).
The fact that the AP move sub-proposal comes at the end of the year, with
little chance for member feeedback, and completely out of kilter with the
normal "rules season" troubles me. Especially when you have a class that is
already in bad shape (AP) as part of the mix. Killing two birds with one
stone *is* a clever idea, though, but can we really get it done without
screwing it up in the limited amount of time available? Will the SCCA BOD
even let the SEB do it (they hate it when boards circumvent the rules
season...)?
If you care at all about Prepared, and especially DP, EP or AP, then read
the next FastTrack and immediately send in your comments to SEB@SCCA.ORG.

The rumor I heard is that the DP Miata's will be moved to AP next year -
this
should help AP's numbers.
