Not that "high speed" is an option for me, but is a roadster with a
factory hardtop installed considered a closed car? So you'd still need a
roll bar but just not as tall?

Don't forget, open cars require the roll bar to be 2"-3" above the drivers
helmet. For us tall guys that's not an option with most convertibles if we
intend to put the top up at some point.
