Scott;
You mean I get a whole Classification all to my self?
Boy, that is either no respect to the MAX or too much respect!!!
I have autocrossed a 91 Dodge Shadow ES 2door Turbo 5 speed since
1992. When I came back from Operation Joint Endeavor {yes they even
activated prehistoric Med Repair guys} in May 97, I entered the autocross
that was that first weekend at the insistence of many. I had not changed
oil in it since before Summer 96. So I did not want to drive it; also, it
had 140K miles with original mechanicals but new tires in Feb 96. I
listened real hard for noises, not hearing any, on the second run I pressed
a little harder. WOW,
beat everyone on the first course {Pax'd time} and got fourth on the second
course. Results showed me in first O.A. for the day? I run HS on
street
tires, BFG Touring Radial 4's in stock size, etc.. What an unusual day.
I
am normally mid pack, with an occasional class win, and never an overall
win.
I have always enjoyed running none competitive type of vehicles. Much
more challenging just to get around the course without hitting pylons, let
alone fast.
My previous car to the Shadow was a 91 Dodge Caravan {company car, ya know}.
We began doing auto crossing in 1970. Yes, nineteen seventy. In a 70
Hornet Coupe with 199 CID 6 cyl and 3 speed on the column, pure stock.
That is the one that got 2nd in 43 cars {counting mine} and wound up with a
postcard of a Hornet STS Coupe in a 5 x 7 frame. They did not do that
to anyone again, thank goodness. The Hornet and I won all the events in B
Sedan the rest of the year and the next year. I cammed it, 4 barreled it,
sway barred it, etc. and owned the prepared class then in Wichita, Kansas
the next year. We {Charlotte, my super significant other {spouse}} and
I were part of the gang that helped get the Nationals organized into the
early runoffs in
Kansas. I was scoring chief on some of the courses in those early days.
Being truly eligible for SOL, I never felt competent to enter the Nationals.

Charlotte Sargent {R14318} SCCA Scoring Past National Rally Team Driver
Both RMVR Members and workers. I am retiring from corners for 99 due to my
knees deciding I did not need to walk, let alone run, after OJE & PT.
Planning on doing Tech again at races for RMVR and SCCA if they will let me.
Charlotte will do Scoring for both, too. Oh, I am President of Central
Wyoming Auto Club, which is affiliated with Colorado Region, this year.
Should someone be interested in Casper, Wyoming events, e-mail me and I
shall return your e-mail with our schedule. We have 13 auto crosses
beginning
with April 24 at the Natrona County School District #1 HQ Parking Lot. Ist
car out at 10:30, drivers meeting at 9:30, setup at 7:30 a.m..
Our address is:

Retirement is this year!!!! With complete retirement in 2001, from work, I
mean. Then we can start really going places.
Sorry, that this was not a quick note. I got gabby.
