Good job and a great tech tip however, Donn Anderson redid his about
twelve years ago. He removed the nuts and washers and pulled the disintegrated
rubber out. Now, the joints were very sloppy, as you can imagine. He didn't
fight the stuck tapers ... he left them in place.
He cut some heater hose and shoved it into the gap, then used the
original washer and nut to squish it 'home'. His steering is still perfectly
tight after all this time and it cost about ten cents. That's his tech-tip.
