Engine #s

Just wanted to know if anyone might know a little about my engine.

It bears a casting in the side in the shape of a horizontal diamond with the 
name Chromidium in it.  Also cast in it's side are  the No's MC22672 and to 
the right of that is 28 11 L (the date?), below that is 1600 and below that 
1980 880 (the year?)

It's ser # is:N392188CAL

Any help appreciated.
