Brian,
The motor mounts have rubber, they stretch, so just put a block under the front
of the oil pan and jack the engine up a half an inch so it will silp in.

Subject: Fan Belt removal

Hi all;
During the rebuild of my carbs (going quite nicely), I noticed that my fan
belt is trashed. The problem on my '76 (CF55886UO) is that it seems as
though you'd have to remove both the cross brace and the steering rack to
get the belt past the space between the crank pulley and the brace and rack.
Is there some "trick" that I'm not seeing, or did they actually intend to
both taken off to replace the fan belt? (If so that might explain why the PO
didn't change the belt).
