James---Sorry if there's confusion, but certain Toyota trannies will
only bolt up to the TR engine when the "conversion" kit is used. Among
other parts, this includes the special bell housing and rear mount
plate. See details in Kastner's new book, p.172, if interested.

Paul----I don't know if
the TR6 tranny will bolt right up to the TR3 engine, but I'm
pretty sure the 5 speed Toyota Celica box *will. Herman van

says he put his
*conversion kit in his daughter's TR3.

Hi,
I have heard that I can
use a certain transmission (with overdrive) out of a TR6 to
go in my '60 TR3A (giving me overdrive)? Of course I've got
my (non-overdrive) TR3A transmission but, If needed, I can install a
(non-overdrive) TR4 tranny. How do I do this? Thanks,
