The good:
The new TR6 engine fired right up last night. Sounds mighty
good. The rebuilt starter positively ROCKS!
The bad:
Found some oil leaks.
The ugly:
One of the oil leaks is inside the bell housing, leaks out
through the drain hole. Gotta pull the tranny. *FUDGE*!
I am glad I don't make my living as a LBC mechanic, because I
would starve. On the ugly leak: During the rebuild, I put in a new oil
gallery plug, a new rear main seal, hylomared the gasket, and used a new
copper washer under the top bolt on the oil seal housing. I torqued the
bolts to the Bentley spec. How did I mess this one up? I will find out
soon enough.
