In addition to previous posts on this thread, it pays to ensure the housing
for the O ring is scrupulously clean as well. Mine still leaked with only
one O ring in place and I discovered it was a build-up of ancient and
hardened crud right at the bottom of the ring groove that didn't allow the
ring to seat properly. Rotated a narrow screw driver blade around the whole
area, then followed up with several cotton buds soaked in solvent. Amazed at
the filth which emerged. Lightly greased the O ring, put it back - and no
leaks since
