Vance, Oh contraire
I wouldn't call my self a terror ( well maybe after a hard days work ) but I
can say that the blower makes safe, reliable ass kick'n power. All the basic
mechanical requirements apply. I wouldn't bolt a blower on to a tired motor any
more than I would raise the compression on a motor out of spec or sloppy. As a
matter of fact my boost & subsequent raise in compression is temporary. When
you raise the compression on a street motor it's stressing the engine all the
time. That means when daily runs to get a quart of milk or an early morning
drive in the country , a high compression motor is dealing with the strain all
the time. My engine runs on 7.75:1 .
I have made changes to the bottom end but not as much as you would think. The
changes made are normal upgrades that any ( nut ) performance enthusiast would
consider proper for durability. I have had this unit on my car for more than
four years & over 30,000 miles. I take it on long trips and drive it all year
round.
So far soooooo good. :-)
-----------------------------
Even the people that add on a supercharger will not
have
a strong, reliable motor without going inside to re-engineer everything
to work with the supercharger. If they don't, they are the terror of
their
car club for a couple months, then pffft! Time for a new motor.
