I'm installing a new clutch, cross shaft, bushes, and fork. My old fork has flat spots on the pins. I assumed that these were from wear. In the buckeye article it is suggested that these were intentionally filed there as part of an installation. Both forks that I have had a look at had the flats. It seems to me that this introduces undesireable slop into the actuating mechanism. What would be the point of the flats? Do I file flats on the new pins? Thanks, Jimmy Richards 74 TR6 CF16521U |
