Dan, Dick and the rest of the list:
I agree with Dick that I wouldnt change the hub just because of the click,
however, I was unfortunate enough to have my hub fail at 69K miles. For me it
did start out as a click but progressed to more of a rumble and the first
indication was the play in the hub when I was working on the rear brakes. I
never realized how much noise the hub was making until I put up the top for a
rainstorm and "suddenly" could hear how much noise the hub really was making.
I ended up replacing mine with a rebuilt unit from Moss Motors since that was
the only one available at the time. The one that I removed has been rebuilt
with almost all of the credit going to fellow lister Rick Patton. Rick built a
hub puller out of a solid aluminum cylinder blank and after much effort the hub
was seperated and rebuilt. It has a coat of primer on it and the only thing
left to do is to put the final coat of black on it. I am sure the source of
the click will reveal itself before too long, but checking the play in the hub
should reveal if the bearing is going. Please keep us informed of the outcome

Not a lot of new information in this post, but thought I would pass along that
hubs can and do go sometimes before they should.
