Darrell---There's a better chance that fuel is getting in thru the fuel
pump than any other place.  If coming thru a carburetor, it should show
up as a very rich mixture and darken those three spark plugs.

You're right in that it's not good to drive this way. It's either
washing down the cylinder walls if coming thru the intake system, or
diluting the whole engine oiling if coming thru the pump.

To be sure what you're smelling isn't normal combustion bi-products, is
the level rising on the dipstick?
