Non Stainless Steel Brake Caliper Pistons

I think my new BPNW TR250 brake caliper pistons are not Stainless Steel.
They are black. I know that stainless are probably better, but is it a
big mistake to use non-stainless? Were the original caliper pistons
stainless? I
have plenty of time to return them.
