John---If you are still unable to get grease to these u-joints, try the
following...
Use the longest grease fittings available. I think they are one inch.
(They come with some of the better 'joints)  
Back out the fitting so the threads barely connect to the cross.  Modify
the sides of a cheap grease gun so it will go deeper into the valley of
the yoke. Then screw the fitting back in.  Hopefully doing all three
will do it!
