Ted: Likely it is the synchros that have gone bad. but... I would first check the oil in the gearbox before you panic. It may very low. It takes 90w gear oil. If you top it off and the gear still grinds on the shift, it's probably the synchro that is worn. If it was the clutch malfunctioning in some way, it would be difficult to shift in all gears.
