I have the same problem on my car, in the same gear (3rd), on both
upshifts and downshifts.  The gearbox has been rebuilt twice, and both
times this has happened.  I have heard that the syncros on the market
aren't of very good quality.  Racetorations in UK has better ones
apparently (www.racetorations.co.uk).  However, my Dad put these on his
Stag gearbox and found that some "fitting" was necessary.  Can't
remember the details, but I'm sure Racetorations can fill you in...
