Before I would attack the fuel side, as Don outlined, I would make sure
the ignition side is covered. Did you bypass the ballast resistor when
installing this coil? Are all the high tension wires new?
The advance/retard mechanism in the distributor could very well be
the culprit here, it could be sticking or the distributor could have
worn out bushings even
Also check for a vacuum leak as the distrib could not be getting
enough vacuum to move the mechansim fast enough.

color tune is only good for idle adjustments. nice to do but
I suspect won't lead you to your problem.
